A leadership and executive coach, Marion Smith is a psychometric practitioner qualified in the administration of MBTI (Personality), FIRO-B (Intra-personal Relations Orientation -Behaviour) and TKI, Thomas Kilmann Instrument (Conflict handling). Marion is also a certified NLP Business practitioner and applies NLP skills in her approach to coaching and professional development.

Prior to founding PeopleCulture, Marion gained extensive experience in senior roles within the NHS, having worked in the acute and community sectors including the management of integrated services.

Marion has significant experience of working with General Practitioners, GP Services in Primary Care, Community Services, Service Commissioners, Strategic Health Authority and Local Authorities. This has provided Marion with in-depth understanding of the political, organisational, personal and financial challenges that leaders face.

Educated to degree level, having successfully completed an MSc in Healthcare Management, Marion also has a clinical qualification as a Registered Nurse.


Derek Smith, BSc

IT professional, Management Coach, Relationship & Customer Services Consultant and Project Manager (PRINCE2).

Derek has considerable experience in the ICT industry, having worked for organisations such as Sun Microsystems, Oracle and the National Health Service. During that time he has managed Customer Support consultants, Service Delivery Managers and Project Managers, five years of which were within the healthcare sector.

Derek has focussed on delivering the highest levels of Customer Satisfaction by encouraging and supporting individuals & teams to take ownership of their customers.

In the last 5 years, he successfully performed a number of demanding reorganisations, ensuring that the teams’ compositions and individual’s behaviours were aligned with the corporate standards for excellence.

Derek has worked closely with User Groups and is qualified in, and committed to, formal working practices, such as ITIL & PRINCE2 in which he is a certified practitioner.
